Zika Virus - Safety and Prevention

In pregnant woman, the bite can cause microcephaly which is a birth defect that affects the brain of the fetus. However, there are several steps pregnant woman and the general public can take to prevent these bites.

 

The best way to prevent this is to wear long sleeved shirts as well as stay in well air conditioned area and avoid standing water which can be mosquito breeding sites.
