Emergency Survival

We know during certain times throughout the year we have extreme seasons. Not only during spring, but in summer, fall, and winter. For example, there is a monsoon season in Arizona that occurs in the months of June through September. There is also a tornado season on the east side of the Rocky Mountains, ranging through the months of March to June. Lastly, there’s the ever-faithful hurricane season which happens every year from June through November. Though these seasons happen every year, it’s still shocking the damage these storms can cause. This severe weather, in turn causes natural disasters. According to Basic Planet "Any catastrophic event that is caused by nature or the natural processes of the earth. The severity of a disaster is measured in lives lost, economic loss, and the ability of the population to rebuild.” When these disasters strike they occur with little to no warning, leaving the people unprepared in dire situations.

Currently the Hurricane Harvey has wreaked some havoc starting. Friday August 25, 2017 from Texas to Louisiana lasting over 5 days. According to Business Insider This Hurricane has caused over 30,000 people to be displaced. Destroyed over 20,000 homes and has claimed over 40 lives as of today August 31,2017 the numbers continue to rise. I know it’s hard to say to make sure to always stay prepared as this storm has been the worst in the last thirty years but, knowing history tends to repeat itself it wouldn’t be a bad idea to make sure to be prepared during these stormy seasons. According to CNN One convenience store in Houston reportedly charged $20.00 for a gallon of gas. $ 8.50 for a bottle of water and $99.00 for a case of water. In these situations, having an emergency supply for your family is what we need to start thinking about. We need to make sure we plan. Of course, not every storm could be so devastating but there are those ones that do tend sneak up on us.

So, if you live in those areas that do often have these occurrences please, please think about safety and survival.
